Situada na região central da Diocese da Campanha, a forania N. Sra. dos Campos foi criada em 29/06/2008, por decreto de S. Excia. Revma. Dom Diamantino P. de Carvalho.Com 5 cidades, 10 paróquias ecerca de 116.015 habitantes, recebeu este título inovador ao atribuir à Virgem Maria uma qualidade geográfica desta região: seus campos abundantemente produtivos, tais como o seio da Virgem Maria, campo abundante onde se produziu o fruto eterno que nos remiu e salvou, depois do fruto perverso do Paraíso.
